The Temporary Residence Card (Karta Czasowego Pobytu) in Poland provides foreign students with a legal basis for extended stay in the country during their studies. This document allows students to freely cross the borders of Poland and other Schengen Area countries without the need for additional visas.

1. Legal stay at the time of application: You must have a valid visa or be in Poland under the visa-free regime.
2. Proof of enrollment: A document from the educational institution confirming admission or continuation of studies.
3. Sufficient financial resources: Proof of sufficient funds to cover living and study expenses.
4. Accommodation: A lease agreement or other proof of residence in Poland.
5. Health insurance: A valid health insurance policy covering medical expenses in Poland.
1. Gather the necessary documents:
● Completed application (wniosek) in Polish.
● Four recent photos (35x45 mm). ● Copies of all pages of your passport and the original for verification. ● Proof of payment for the stamp duty (340 PLN). ● Document from the educational institution confirming enrollment or continuation of studies. ● Proof of tuition payment (if applicable). ● Health insurance. ● Proof of sufficient funds for living and studying. ● Lease agreement or other proof of residence.
2. Submitting the application:
● ЗThe application is submitted in person to the Office for Foreigners at the Voivode (Urząd do Spraw Cudzoziemców przy Wojewodzie) in your place of residence.
● Fingerprints are required when submitting documents.
3. Waiting for a decision:
● After submission and receiving a stamp in your passport confirming the legality of your stay, the review process begins, which may take anywhere from several months to a year, depending on the workload of the office.
4. Receiving the card:
● After a positive decision, a 100 PLN fee must be paid for the production of the plastic card.
● The card is issued in person at the same office where the application was submitted.
Card Validity:
● The first permit for full-time students is issued for up to 15 months.
● Subsequent permits can be issued for the entire duration of the studies, but not exceeding 3 years.
Possible Reasons for Refusal:
● Incomplete document submission or errors in the application.
● Insufficient financial resources.
● Violation of regulations or provision of false information.
Right to Appeal:
If the application is denied, the applicant has the right to appeal the decision.
