Resident Card

The EU Long-Term Resident Card (Karta Rezydenta Długoterminowego UE) grants foreigners the right to reside indefinitely in Poland, along with several additional benefits.

Requirements for Obtaining the EU Long-Term Resident Card

1. Continuous Legal Residence: A minimum of 5 years of uninterrupted legal residence in Poland immediately before submitting the application.
2. Stable and Regular Income: Proof of income sufficient to cover living expenses for yourself and your family members.
3. Health Insurance: A valid health insurance policy covering medical expenses in Poland.
4. Polish Language Proficiency: Proof of proficiency in the Polish language at a level of at least B1.

Application Procedure

1. Collect Required Documents:

● Completed application form in Polish.
● Four recent color photographs (35x45 mm).
● Copies of all pages of your passport, along with the original for verification.
● Proof of payment of the stamp duty (640 PLN).
● Documents proving stable and regular income over the past three years.
● A valid health insurance policy.
● Proof of Polish language proficiency (certificate, diploma, or other equivalent documentation).

2. Submit the Application:

● The application must be submitted in person to the Voivodeship Office (Urząd Wojewódzki) in your place of residence.
● Fingerprints are required during the submission process.

3. Wait for the Decision:

● The application review process may take 9 to 12 months.

4. Receive the Card:

● After a positive decision, a fee of 1,000 PLN must be paid for card issuance.
● The card is issued in person at the same office where the application was submitted.

Key Details

● The card is valid for 5 years, after which a renewal application must be submitted.
● Any change in residence or employment must be reported to the relevant authorities.
